Susan M. Bearden is an educational technology consultant, the Project Director for CoSN’s Digital Equity Initiative, and the Project Manager for Google’s Rolling Study Halls initiative.  From 2016-2017 she served as a Senior Education Pioneers Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education in the Office of Educational Technology where she led the 2017 update of federal government’s K-12 school infrastructure guide, Building Technology Infrastructure for Learning.

A former K12 technology director and author of “Digital Citizenship: A Community-Based Approach,” she has received numerous awards including being named one of the Center for Digital Education’s 2015 “Top 30 Technologists, Transformers and Trailblazers,” the 2015 “Making IT Happen” Award from FSTE, and the 2014 Bammy Award for School Technologist. She is the co-founder and co-moderator of #Edtechchat, a weekly Twitter chat discussing all things education technology related, on Mondays at 8 pm Eastern Time (US).
